A few months back, I bought my first Golden Goose sneakers (which I originally featured in this post), and got tons of questions from you guys ever since. So many that I thought it was time for a full review! How does the sizing run?
Yes, they do run true to size, at least for me.
Since they don’t stretch and they don’t come in half sizes, I’d recommend sizing up.
Is the comfort worth it?
They felt good right away. I recommend wearing no-shows, especially since my feet get sweaty. High-end Italian leather construction, so it’s much more comfortable than breaking in synthetic materials. Plus, they’re already softened so your feet just slide in.
How do they perform over time?
Because they already have scuffs, I didn’t worry about scuffing them more. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and they still look great. No glitter has fallen off, and the leather hasn’t stretched. Since the aesthetic is distressed, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
Do they feel better than other shoes?
These are the best sneakers I own. I love my Vejas and Tretorns, but Golden Goose still come out on top. They include a built-in arch bump that adds support and height — making your legs look longer. Also, they’re handmade in small batches, so each pair is one of a kind. And the glitter on mine? Next-level.
Would you recommend them?
Absolutely! Though I suggest looking for a deal. They’re not cheap, so getting them on sale is smarter. Still, I think they’re worth a few hundred bucks, especially if you find a style that suits you. I went bold with sparkle, but a neutral version would also go with everything.
